Stockiemuir in the Snow inspired me. I was delighted that I’d completed a painting in a couple of days, so I started another, just creating something in my head. I’ve always been drawn to oranges, yellows and reds. Strong, bold, warming colours. I like neutral home interior styles, brought to life by bright colours in paintings.
At the time I did this, I was watching videos of Leonid Afremov on Youtube, watching him use the palette knife. I took inspiration from one of his pieces which included a sail boat at sunset. However I stuck to using paint brushes, and I wanted to keep it generally within my orange/yellow/red combination.
This is the finished piece. Finished in a couple of hours!
