Kew Blossom

I pass this particular tree in all its varied glory from season to season on my West End walks. It is particularly beautiful in full blossomy bloom and when I offered to submit a painting as a charity prize at my friend’s Open Garden event, this was my choice of subject.

The combination of the pinks and blues really takes me to Hockney. I remember so clearly how breathtaking ‘A Bigger Splash’ was when I walked into that room in the Met in NY. Absolutely blew me away, and the feeling of calm was incredible.

This blossom tree makes me feel calm too.
